Botanic Gardens - Ilex path extension

What

We are renewing a section of the pathway from the Ilex building to toilet block behind the Museum.

Why

As part of the continual upgrade of paths within the Botanic Gardens, the renewal of the Ilex pathway will improve pedestrian access and enhance visitor experience.

Botanic Gardens.

When

Work will start in March 2021 and is expected to be completed by June 2021 (weather dependent). Work will be undertaken between Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.

Details

  • The existing pathway from the Ilex building to the back of the museum will be closed and the public will be directed to use other existing paths throughout the duration of this project
  • Temporary site fencing and signs will be in place to help direct pedestrians around the site      
  • There may be increased noise and dust during these works with heavy machinery, construction plant and vehicle movements operating during the day
  • Construction vehicles will access the site from the west crossing the Avon River Bridge near the tennis courts and moving through the gardens to the construction site
  • For a limited time only, some heavy vehicles and plant will need special construction access to the site from the gate beside the Curators House
