What |
Lower Heathcote River LDRP 527: dredging work is moving to Fifield Terrace. |
---|---|
Why |
The Heathcote River is being dredged to remove accumulated sediment and reduce flooding. Dredging is finished below Hansen Park so work will now shift to the final sections of Fifield Terrace. |
Where |
Fifield Terrace, downstream of Beckford Road. |
When |
From 20 July 2020 for approximately 6 weeks. |
Contact |
The contractor is Citycare. Phone 027 215 2224 between 7am to 7pm. Advise us if you have specific property access requirements e.g. medical visits, home help, large vehicle deliveries, planned works. |
Dredging of the final 200m of the river downstream of Beckford Road will be undertaken by Citycare between July and August 2020. Traffic management will be in place to make a safe area for trucks to be loaded.
As well as sediment removal, the work involves eel relocation ahead of the works and water quality monitoring. Most of the time dredging will occur Tuesday to Friday but other works including fishing and establishment may occur outside these times.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.
Safety
Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
