Edgeware Road (east) - road closure

What

Transport projects in St Albans, Edgeware and Mairehau: road closure for ducting, drainage, kerb and channel, footpath and traffic pole installation.

Why

With additional traffic entering the area once the Christchurch Northern Corridor (CNC) is complete, this work will allow people to pass through the area, provide safer access to schools, and add safer walking and cycling routes.

Where

Edgeware Road at Barbadoes Street intersection (east side).

When

From end June 2020 for approximately seven weeks.

Contact

Contact Fulton Hogan on 0800 ROAD FH (Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm) or email cant.info@fultonhogan.com After business hours, please phone this number if the matter is urgent. Please advise us if you have specific property and access requirements e.g. vehicle deliveries, medical visits, planned work.

What are we doing?

We will be closing the east side of Edgeware Road at Barbadoes Street intersection from Tuesday 30 June for approximately seven weeks, so we can complete ducting, drainage, kerb and channel, footpath and traffic pole installation. We will be reopening Edgeware Road on the west side before this closure occurs. Work here will continue to be carried out between 7am and 7pm each week day.

Traffic impacts

Edgeware Road will be closed on the east side of Barbadoes Street. The west side of Edgeware Road will open back up during this time. Residents located within the road closure on Edgeware Road will have access to their properties from the east side of this intersection. We expect to still maintain some parking here.

Access restrictions to properties

We will need to temporarily restrict driveway access to some properties. We will notify these properties before we block access to give you time to move your car if needed.
Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained at all times with the help of our friendly staff. We thank you for your patience and co-operation.

We ask that during our road works you please continue to support the local businesses in your area.
