We are installing a sewer chamber to allow us to access the underground wastewater pipeline.

We will do this by open trenching along the carriageway and footpaths.

We need to close part of Port Hills Road from number 45 through to 55 so we can install this important piece of infrastructure.

Traffic management will be in place for the duration of

these works and a road closure between 45 and 55 Port Hills Road.

Parking will be unavailable during the chamber installation, with No Parking signs displayed along Port Hills Road as the work progresses.

Pedestrian access will be available at all times. All works will be completed within working hours of 7am - 6pm and noise disturbance will be kept to a minimum.

If we need to do any works outside of these times, we’ll let you know before works begin.

Our contractors UINZ are planning to start work on this project on 5 June with an expected finish date of 26 June

This work is part of a project to connect Lyttelton Harbour’s wastewater to the main Christchurch system.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this work.
