Quaifes Road - waterway naturalisation and culvert replacement

What

We are naturalising a section of the waterway along the north side of Quaifes Road and removing and replacing an existing culvert.

Why

We are realigning and naturalising a section of Quaifes Drain, in front of the new Council stormwater facility and replacing and extending an existing culvert to improve road safety and due to the culvert being in poor condition.

Where

Between 63 and 81 Quaifes Road.

When

Work will be carried out between Monday 8 June 2020 and 28 August 2020.

Contact

The main contractor is Grounds & Services Ltd, phone 03 349 0634 between 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. Access to your property will be maintained at all times. The waterway on the north side of Quaifes Road will be realigned away from the road along the front of Council’s new stormwater facility and planted with native plants. To allow this, the waterway on the north side of Quaifes Road will be diverted across the road near 81 Quaifes Road.

The existing culvert under the road near 71 Quaifes Road will be replaced with a new concrete culvert.

A road closure will be in place during these works. Access for residents and their visitors will be maintained at all times.  Diversions for through traffic will be as per the diagrams below.

Work will be carried out between 7am to 6pm Monday to Saturday.
