Cowles Stadium Carpark Renewal

What

We are carrying out a complete carpark renewal at Cowles Stadium, which will restrict the number of parks available while work is underway and create some noise disturbance. Half of the carpark will be under construction at one time, reducing the number of carparks available to the public

Why

Replace an aging and damaged asset to increase the overall carparking capacity and safety of the existing carpark.

Where

210-220 Pages Road, Wainoni, Christchurch

When

Mid October 2019 until early March 2020

Hours of work
•Work will occur from 7am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday.
•Work will happen in stages and in specific locations, with contractors working on multiple work fronts to complete the renewal.

Contact

The contractor is Fulton Hogan. Phone 0800 275 342 (Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm) or email cant.info@fultonhogan.com.

How will this work impact you?

  • The work will cause some noise disturbance and will mean on-street parking may be required when large events are held at the stadium.
  • There will be delays and restricted access through the stadium entrance way.

Project information

  • The project, which includes roading, drainage and landscaping work, is to be completed by early March 2020 – depending on the weather and any unexpected delays that might occur.
  • Fifty percent of the carpark will be under construction at one time, reducing the number of carparks available to the public.
  • The renewal will increase the overall number of carparks from 190 to 268 and will improve safety through upgraded lighting and changes to the layout and design of the carpark. Landscaping work will improve water quality before it is discharged into the storm water system.
