Why |
On 26 April 2018, the Council agreed to this work to extend the stopbanks south of Bridge Street to reduce the impact of tidal flooding from the estuary to more than 500 properties in South New Brighton. |

The work will include
- Construction and landscaping of 185m of new stopbank south of Bridge Street in Bridge Reserve.
- Upgrading and realigning of existing path over the new stopbank.
- Installation of a new stormwater sump and pipe in Bridge Street.
- Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained through Bridge Reserve for the duration of the works.
- Traffic Management will be in place on Bridge Street.
Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
