Details
We are starting Stage 1 of the Te Nukutai o Tapoa-Naval Point Development Plan. As part of the work we will be:
- Establishing the site.
- Upgrading the existing water main and storm water.
- Making foreshore improvements.
- Asphalting the car park and carrying out line marking.
Site access
- There will be restricted access to the site while this work is carried out.
- Access to the overflow boat trailer park will be removed. We expect the impact of this to be minimal over the winter months.
- There will be no pedestrian access along the foreshore of the work area (see map). Access will be maintained along the walkway that runs on the south-side of the Lyttelton Recreation Grounds. This will be sign posted.
- Access to the Naval Point haul out area and public boat ramp will be maintained during construction, until the haul out is moved off site.
- Access to the public toilets will remain unaffected.
Construction Impacts
- There will be increased noise, dust, light, and vibration levels that we will try to keep to a minimum.
- Safety is our number one priority. Safety is your responsibility too. Stay clear and stay alert. Keep children and pets at a safe distance from the work site.
This work will enable the SailGP yachting event to be held in Whakaraupō-Lyttelton Harbour in January 2022.

Noise
There may be increased noise, dust and vibrations during work but it shouldn’t impact on your power, water, gas or phone services.

Safety is our biggest priority so please keep children and pets away from worksites.
Bins
Please put your bins out as usual before 6am on your collection day. Our crew will move and return them if needed.
