This summer, a replacement indoor hydroslide is being installed at Jellie Park Recreation and Sport Centre – and Christchurch City Council wants your help to decide the colour.
View the artist's concepts and read the rationale below, then cast your vote for your favourite.
Voting closes at 4pm on Friday 11 August, and we'll share the winning result shortly after.
Option 1: Sky blue / Traffic yellow / Translucent blue
This combination is associated with a bright summer day at the beach and having fun. Blue and yellow is also less on-trend, making it the most 'classic' option.
Option 2: Yellow orange / Translucent blue / Ultramarine blue
This combination is more vivid, with orange the complimentary colour to blue. This tonal contrast would make it stand out more on a bright day.
Option 3: Translucent green / Sky blue / Light green
This is a nod to the blue/green sky/ground combo that New Zealanders like, although this mix can sometimes blend in with a park backdrop or when viewed through the trees.
