Update 3/6/2020

The Waikura/Linwood-Central-Heathcote Community Board has approved the staff recommendation not to fence the dog agility area.

You can read the minutes online(external link)(external link) from Monday 8 June 2020.

Renewal of the dog agility area in Radley Park was approved by the Waikura/Linwood-Central-Heathcote Community Board in July 2019.

The new equipment will be relocated from the existing area and towards the open space and will include new trees and plant beds.

The type of agility equipment is shown below.

We have two options for the final layout of the dog agility area and we would like your feedback on your preferred option.

Options

Option 1

  • Two new exercise areas –one for medium/large dogs and one for small dogs
  • New plant bed including one new tree for shade

Option 2

  • Two new exercise areas –one for medium/large dogs and one for small dogs.
  • Three new plant beds providing separation between the two areas, including three new trees for shade. The separation area is needed because of the confined space.
  • Fencing around the new dog agility area, with two double gate accesses.

If option two is selected, funding for the fence will be requested through the Long Term Plan 2021-2031 and installed at a later date when funding is available.

Following consultation, the Waikura/Linwood-Central-Heathcote Community Board will consider all the feedback and will approve the final option.  The dog agility equipment will be installed by July 2020.
