Aimed at those new to spin, who would like to step up and pedal hard. You’ll get a good workout while learning different aspects of spin training, including bike set up, technique, use of resistance, riding positions and Body Bike App.

Visiting Recreation and Sport Centres during Alert Level 2

Our centres remain open under COVID Alert Level 2, with steps in place to ensure people can maintain physical distancing and that we have the ability to contact trace. Please stay at home if you or anyone in your house is unwell. At this stage we won’t be accepting cash or giving change. All transactions will be via EFTPOS.

You can book in for your group fitness class, including Spin, AquaFit and Tumbletimes. 

Swimsmart lessons are running but with limited times and programming. At Taiora QEII, Graham Condon, Pioneer and Jellie Park, Swimsmart lessons will continue to run for Tigersharks Barracudas, Marlins and Squads at the usual times. All other lessons will remain on hold at Level 2.

Sessions

  • Week 1 – bike set up, basic riding positions, flat and moderate hill tracks
  • Week 2 – recap week 1, introducing speed and strength tracks
  • Week 3 – recap week 2, introducing how to use the app, introducing jumps, hovers and reverse
  • Week 4 – normal class intensity.

Class duration: 50 minutes – same as a normal Spin class
