Like all New Zealand local authorities, the majority of Animal Management's day-to-day work concerns dogs, although we are also responsible for livestock and poultry. We are not responsible for other domestic pets such as cats, birds or fish.
Keep an eye out for ticks on dogs
A small number of an unwanted pest, the brown dog tick, have been found on two pet dogs in Canterbury near Christchurch.
