Courses for event organisers
Learn how to plan, organise and promote your own community recreation programme or event.
We regularly run two workshops throughout the year: Get Set Go! and Spread the Word!
Get Set Go!
An essential course for organisers of community recreation programmes and events.
Whether your idea involves sport, art, culture, music, social or club events Get Set Go! Will help you put your ideas into action. There are planning sheets that provide you with an easy step–by–step plan and training to help turn your great ideas into reality.
You'll find out everything you need to know about running a recreation programme or event including:
- budgets and funding
- promotion and publicity
- effective evaluations
- trouble shooting tips for events
- designing programmes to suit your community.
Spread the Word!
Your guide to promoting community recreation programmes and events.
This new workshop and guide has been designed in collaboration with Wellington City Council and is a companion to Get Set Go! It is for anyone who wants to promote art, music, culture, sport, social or club events and programmes. These activities have so many benefits for individuals and communities, but if no one knows about your programme or event they won’t be able to participate.
Cost
Our costs include the course and take–home resources.
- $30 for voluntary organisations/individuals (ask us about our group fee).
